Diagnosis of patients with Atypical Parkinsonism using IMUs:

Project:

Atypical Parkinsonism syndromes such as Multiple system atrophy (MSA) and Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) are rare conditions that often are misdiagnosed as Idiopathic Parkinson disease (IPD).

The aim of this project is to facilitate this procedure using Machine learning techniques based on the gait characteristics and parameters recorded with the foot-worn IMUs. At the first stage of the project, a classification between Atypical and Idiopathic Parkinsonism should be carried out. Furthermore classification between the different variation of Atypical Parkinsonism should be examined.

This project is defined as a subproject of Mobility-App.

Mobility-App is a collaboration among different institutes in EU and is a great opportunity to work as part of a diverse group from different countries. Expand your network and add some publications to your resume. Please visit here for more information.

Responsibilities:

you will work with IMU signals and gaitmap library to extract gait parameters, and other features, and run different classifiers.

Requirements:

Python, signal processing, basic ML/DL skills, and most important a great will to learn
